At the heart of the village, sharing the love of Christ.
Welcome to the Parish Churches of Kingham, Daylesford, and Churchill with Sarsden.
Hope in the darkness
On Sunday mornings between now and the beginning of Advent we will be reading passages from the book of Jeremiah. He was a prophet in the 7th century BC when God’s people were turning away and worshipping other gods. His unenviable job was to warn them of the serious consequences of their behaviour. God said, ‘I appoint you over nations and kingdoms to uproot and tear down, to destroy and overthrow, to build and to plant.’
Those were dark times and called for strong warnings and yet God included messages of hope. Beyond the coming exile God would restore his people and promised a new, closer relationship with them.
The autumn is a difficult time for many who feel SAD, and there is much in the world today that might cause us concern. And yet there are also signs of God’s kingdom among us - people coming to a new faith in God, the source of all goodness and love. Please join us when you can, on Sundays or other times, and watch online (below).
I hope to see you soon, David.
TEAMS4U SHOEBOX APPEAL 2025
Although we are not filling shoe boxes during our church service this year we will be a collection point for filled shoeboxes. It would be lovely to collect as many as possible for the children of Ukraine, Moldova, Georgi, Bosnia and Romania.
To find out how to make and fill your shoeboxes please head to: Teams4u. Make sure to label your box and make your small payment online to cover costs. All this information can be found on the above link along with suggestions for gifts for boys and girls of different ages.
Please deliver your filled boxes to either All Saints, Churchill OR The Vicarage, 6 The Grange, Kingham. OX7 6XY by SUNDAY 9TH NOVEMBER AT THE VERY LATEST.
Many Thanks
Kingham Church - Roof Appeal
Firstly, THANK YOU to everyone who has already contributed to our appeal.
June 2025:
The church family of St Andrew’s want the church building to be more hospitable and functional and accessible to all. Before development work can begin there are necessary repairs to be made, especially to the roof. Most of the necessary repairs have been planned in detail – the expected cost is £480k. By the end of June 2025 we have raised a total of £264k (paid and pledged) and await the start-date of the first phase of roof repairs this summer. In the last month we are especially grateful for the award of £25k from the Garfield Weston foundation and the first meeting of a new fundraising team. The first news of future fundraising events will be publicised very soon, to start in early September. In the meantime, do look out for us at the Village Fete on 13th July!
You can donate through this link: https://www.stewardship.org.uk/pages/kinghamchurch,
or dropping a cheque (made out to St. Andrew’s Church, Kingham) or cash to the Vicarage at 6 The Grange.
