Advent: Building up to the BIG Day - which one?

It was great to see so many people coming together to remember the people from our villages who gave their lives in the two world wars.

As we get to the end of November we begin the season of Advent - a season of looking forward. Of course, some of this is getting ready for our Christmas celebrations but there’s even more to it. Some of the prophecies about Jesus are about his birth; some are about his life, his death and his resurrection; there are still others which talk about how he will put everything right at the end of time.

On Sunday we read from Hebrews 10 and it mentioned, ‘The Day Approaching’, and in that case it’s speaking about the end of time. Over the next weeks we’ll be thinking about what we can do to prepare for that day, as well as getting ready for Christmas.
