When Heaven Breaks In - Happy Christmas!
Welcome to the website for Kingham and Churchill churches. I hope you find what you need.
Happy Christmas to you. I hope you’ve enjoyed the big day itself, and continue to enjoy the whole season.
It was wonderful to have so many people join us at our special services. I really enjoyed it, especially talking about Jesus, the light of life for all people, on Christmas Eve. Here are the three aspects of light I mentioned, and the pictures are below:
1. Lane Assist - keeping us on the Straight and Narrow, God’s commands helping us to direct our lives (Exodus 20), though none of us keep them completely.
2. The Light of Hope - Light at the end of the Tunnel: the promise of a better future with God for all who trust in Jesus, forgiven through his death & resurrection (Reveation 21.4).
3. The Light of Life, life in all its fullness - Life in relationship with Jesus (John 10.10)(the picture was from the film, ‘Iron Man’.).
If you would like to know more, please join us on Sundays or other times, and watch online (below). We also have a course on Christian ethics starting on Thursday 15th January. Do contact me for more details.
I hope to see you soon, David.
Kingham Church - Roof Appeal
Firstly, THANK YOU to everyone who has already contributed to our appeal.
June 2025:
The church family of St Andrew’s want the church building to be more hospitable and functional and accessible to all. Before development work can begin there are necessary repairs to be made, especially to the roof. Most of the necessary repairs have been planned in detail – the expected cost is £480k. By the end of June 2025 we have raised a total of £264k (paid and pledged) and await the start-date of the first phase of roof repairs this summer. In the last month we are especially grateful for the award of £25k from the Garfield Weston foundation and the first meeting of a new fundraising team. The first news of future fundraising events will be publicised very soon, to start in early September. In the meantime, do look out for us at the Village Fete on 13th July!
You can donate through this link: https://www.stewardship.org.uk/pages/kinghamchurch,
or dropping a cheque (made out to St. Andrew’s Church, Kingham) or cash to the Vicarage at 6 The Grange.
