At the heart of the village, sharing the love of Christ.
Welcome to the Parish Churches of Kingham, Daylesford, and Churchill with Sarsden.
Welcome, one and all
Welcome to the website for Kingham and Churchill churches. I hope you find what you need.
We’re nearing the end of our series, ‘Walking in the Light’, looking at St John’s letters (1 John, 2 John, 3 John). Personally I’ve been struck by his insistence on how we know we belong to God. I looked up 17 occurences of the phrase, ‘we know’ in 1 John alone (you can check them out by clicking the link).
Sometimes we recognise that we don’t share John’s certainty. Jesus’ own pattern was to take time to be alone with his heavenly Father each day and pray. The Church has followed His example by setting up daily patterns of prayer and Bible reading. Last Sunday I suggested four examples to try - there’s a picture below. Wednesday 18th February is Ash Wednesday (the day after Shrove Tuesday - Pancake Day) and the beginning of Lent, which is a season of reflection and preparation for Easter. You might like to take up a new daily pattern for this time?
If you would like to know more, please join us on Sundays or other times, and watch online (below).
I hope to see you soon, David.
Kingham Church - Roof Appeal
Firstly, THANK YOU to everyone who has already contributed to our appeal.
June 2025:
The church family of St Andrew’s want the church building to be more hospitable and functional and accessible to all. Before development work can begin there are necessary repairs to be made, especially to the roof. Most of the necessary repairs have been planned in detail – the expected cost is £480k. By the end of June 2025 we have raised a total of £264k (paid and pledged) and await the start-date of the first phase of roof repairs this summer. In the last month we are especially grateful for the award of £25k from the Garfield Weston foundation and the first meeting of a new fundraising team. The first news of future fundraising events will be publicised very soon, to start in early September. In the meantime, do look out for us at the Village Fete on 13th July!
You can donate through this link: https://www.stewardship.org.uk/pages/kinghamchurch,
or dropping a cheque (made out to St. Andrew’s Church, Kingham) or cash to the Vicarage at 6 The Grange.
